Low bid project. High traffic area with retail and commercial businesses.
Description: Cold Milling and full depth pavement reconstruction. Mill 7.5 inches and replace with 3.5” base course, 1.5” leveling course and 1.5” top course.
We negotiated with Kent County to provide them Echelon paving. This requires 2 pavers and leaves the road with only one longitudinal joint, instead of 4. This will provide additional years of service for this road and reduce maintenance costs. (Crack filling). It also shortened the time of construction, laying twice as much asphalt in the same amount of time. Job was completed in one week, instead of two!
